Open NFL Week 3 Sunday recap

CONFIRMED REPORTING

Week 3 Sunday is complete, and five teams are 3-0. Atlanta opened the week by beating Green Bay on Thursday; Buffalo, Kansas City, San Francisco and Minnesota each reached 3-0 with Sunday victories. The official NFL results roundup lists 14 Sunday finals across the early, late and Sunday-night windows.

Buffalo beat the Chargers 24-16. Kansas City beat Miami 24-10. San Francisco beat Arizona 36-30, and Minnesota won 23-16 at Tampa Bay.

Sunday also produced health developments that should not be turned into return timetables. NFL.com reported that Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield suffered a dislocated right thumb against Minnesota. The league’s Sunday injury roundup listed Dolphins running back De’Von Achane and Jets running back Breece Hall among players who exited their games. Those are reported developments, not projections about any player’s next appearance.

Other tight late results included Baltimore’s 34-31 win over Dallas, Las Vegas’ 35-27 win over New Orleans, Washington’s 33-31 win over Seattle and Indianapolis’ 19-17 win over Houston. Denver closed Sunday with a 30-26 win over the Rams.

FOURTHWIRE ANALYSIS

The useful Week 3 takeaway is not a Monday-morning power ranking. It is the next information checkpoint: official club reports, the league transaction wire and final active/inactive lists. Buffalo won despite an unusually loose turnover profile; San Francisco left its win with additional injury questions; and Minnesota’s victory coincided with a reported Mayfield injury on the other sideline.

Monday night provides the immediate availability test. NFL.com reported that Bears backup quarterback Tyson Bagent cleared concussion protocol while Caleb Williams was out for Chicago’s game against Philadelphia. Confirm the final club inactive lists before writing a game-window conclusion.
