HOW FOURTHWIRE WORKS

Methodology & standards

Definitions, version rules, source policy and the limits behind every FourthWire projection.

POLICY VERSION 1.0 · AUG 2026
01

Different claims stay different

A game projection estimates an outcome. An expert opinion interprets evidence. A market-relative pick requires a specific number and timestamp. FourthWire never blends these into one ambiguous confidence badge.

02

Every material fact needs a source

Official league and club information is preferred for schedules, transactions and status. Original reporting is attributed. Analysis links back to the factual record that supports it.

03

Material changes create versions

Published projections are not silently overwritten. A meaningful availability, weather or role change produces a new version with the old value, new value, time and reason.

04

Results are deterministic

Games are graded against declared rules after official results. Losing calls remain in the archive. Corrections recalculate affected aggregates and preserve before-and-after values.

05

Confidence is not certainty

Preseason projections are especially uncertain because snap plans and priorities differ. FourthWire reduces confidence or withholds a forecast when inputs are stale, unavailable or not licensed.
